Not sure how to get in touch ... tried to post a DOTS with photos I shot in 2015 and 2016, and the compose screen  told me some of the photos had rights issues. I took them all. Can you help?

You need to click on the image, then click the caption area or the (C) on the toolbar, and then select a source (other), the image type (photo), and give a credit (or a snarky jab at Kinja).

Apparently at least one G/O Media author was bad enough about sourcing images that they decided to require these for all Kinja posts to make their people think about whether they really could use those images. Sucks for us.

I have it on good authority that at least three contractors haven’t been getting paid for their articles. I can’t help but chuckle at the idea of protecting copyright but not even being bothered to pay people.

Ironically, if you just paste in the link from somebody else’s photo on another site, you don’t have to assign rights. Or at least I haven’t had to.
