But if you’re a habitual flip-flop wearer, go buy some Gumbies. Best footwear purchase I’ve ever made. They’re super durable, I just finally bought a replacement pair after getting five years of daily summer wear out of one (with frequent cleaning, obviously). On top of that, they have an actual tread pattern so you can safely do outdoorsy stuff.
They’re actually slightly cheaper on Amazon ($30 with free two-day shipping ) but there’s more colors and patterns available if you buy them directly from the company’s website.

Can’t wear rainbows on your feet, silly. They’re intangible.

I found the end of this one yesterday.

I can’t stand thon g type flip flops. In fact I hated flip flops with a passion most of my life. I recently got a pair of slides and I actually like them

A pair of these (except 3$ knock offs) have been my go to ‘sandal ’ for awhile:
Surprising support, irresponsibly comfy, durable and great as pseudo water shoes.
10/10 would recommend

those would be great for water crossings and as a camp shoe while hiking too, hmmm...

Those look cool but not thick enough to be as. Comfy as rainbows. However I get two seasons MAX out of a pair of rainbows and they’re $60

That was my opinion up until I was 20. Flat out refused to wear them but then I gave them a try and was like “omg this is perfectly fine”
Gumbies makes slides too.

I’ve been wearing Combat Fliplops for a number of years. They are durable, comfortable and they support good work.
https://www.combatflipflops.com/
It was started by American veterans of the war in Afghanistan. Their manufacturing is done by small ethically run operations in Afghanistan, Colombia and Laos. Some of their profits go to charities that support women’s education in Afghanistan, removing mines from former war zones and support for the families of Special Operation soldiers.
They also call Issaquah Washington their home town, so I’m supporting a local small business.

Hmmm... I’m not not interested. What is the difference between the three lines?
![]() 07/01/2020 at 12:46 |

The difference is the top/insole layer. The Islanders have canvas, the Corkers are cork (like Birkenstocks), and the Duckbills are a waterproof EVA rubber.

Which do you prefer and why?

I've only owned the canvas because they come in fun prints

Australian here...never heard of them. Surprisingly well priced locally.... even against the frankly awful Haviana branded thongs. Though I’ve never really got on with thongs either...but these seem cupped in the bed so your ankle might n’t tend to fall off so easily...

I just don’t understand Hava ianas. They’re literally the same exact quality as something you could get for $6 at a gas station but they cost four times as much.
