You need to remember just how strongly many, many people dislike Hillary Clinton.

Joe Biden doesn’t really have that issue, granted, a lot of people don’t have strong feelings for him one way or the other, but the thing he’s got going for him is that most people would probably be OK having a beer with him. He doesn’t have Bill Clinton’s charisma or political abilities , but, neither does the guy he’s up against, so that doesn’t matter.

I think that was mainly due to perceived competence and intellectual ability, combined with being a gaffe factory. But, those concerns have since dulled. Pence has basically just settled into the usual vice president ro le - go do this boring or awkward thing the president doesn’t want to bother with, and someone will call you if there’s a tie to break.

Vice Presidents, for whatever reason, often wind up kind of the butt of jokes - Dan Quayle was an infantile moron because he misspelled the word potato, and Al Gore was a wooden, emotionless robot who seemed a little slow at times, George H.W. Bush was a nerd,  Gerald Ford was clumsy and boorish, etc. I think its because the office has always been thought of as a bit of a joke, seemingly prestigious, but as close as you can get to tremendous power without having any of it yourself.

Well, w hat he meant by that was.. is, you see, what that is is regional slang, its a Delaware thing, in Wilmington and upper New Castle County, not just Wilmington , dog-faced means beautiful, because dogs are beautiful animals, so he was complimenting her.
