About a week late on this, I know. I just thought it was a pretty cool gift, especially from my dad who isn’t the most sentimental guy on earth. Hard to believe the album is almost 51 years old...
Original LP — has lived in FL, CA, New Zealand, NY, CT, MD, and AL over 51 years.
21 years ago this summer, dad got the above shot of me (20) and little bro (17) crossing at Abbey Road. I was studying in the UK for 2 months and they came over on vacation. Disposable 35mm for the win.

A buddy and I were over in 1983 as “young lads” and actually got a tour and presentation in Abbey Roads Studio, as it was being upgraded and refitted.
It was there that I learned that the “Chord That Lasts Forever” indeed lasts 42 seconds in the official release. And it was my first taste of Studio Grade Bowers & Wilkins Monitors.
Paul’s first London house isn’t too far away from that spot. He wanted a “house in the city”, unlike his three bandmates who were living like footballers out in the country estates.
Great memories! Thanks!

It’s just too bad that Paul died not long after this album came out...I’m gonna miss him!

That’s fantastic. A true heirloom. In other news, I am older than that record.

Great memories. RIP Paul!
Every time I drive through Tucson, which I do a lot these days, I wonder if he kept “the ranch” Linda loved so much. I’m guessing it’s too painful to sell, but who knows?

Wow that’s so awesome. Definitely a great family heirloom to keep passing down.
And welcome back to Oppo!

The thing about getting older is that 51 years ago isn’t as long ago as it used to be........

Yep...basically everything from the past 20 years is now “about 5 years ago” ...u ntil you talk to someone in their 20s and they have no idea what you’re talking about because they were a baby.
I remember in high school and college when “2 years” was like an enternity.
On a side note, I’m amazed at how many albums the Beatles released so quickly. Nobody does that today. It’s like Stephen King writing books!
