Well this weekend was a busy one! Was able to hit a major milestone this weekend. Started with rearranging the shop, so this was the first time the frame had hit the sunshine as well as the freshly painted cab.
One the rearranging was down it was finally time to drop the cab back onto the frame and get it bolted down with fresh mounts. Didn’ t take any picks of the process as it was touchy the entire time.
Once the cab was secured back onto the frame, it was back to bolting stuff back into the cab. Got all the door trim and emblems added, door seals installed, door handles and locks, got the radio in, gas tank bolted back in. This coming week the goal is to get the dash back together and steering column back in.

Lovely. Hard work but it must be exciting to see all your handiwork coming together.

Its nice to finally put some shiny stuff on and to start emptying the parts boxes and bags instead of filling them.

I've enjoyed following along all this time. Hopefully the first drive isn't too many weeks away.

Great project, I had missed the earlier posts but got to binge-read it just now. That will be a fantastic truck. Any mods to suspension or brakes?

Did the idea of bolting a seat to the frame and driving it as is ever cross your mind?

nope, once the motor was in the frame, only thoughts were the dreaded bodywork that needed to be done.

Nothing right now, cant really afford at this point to do what I want. I had to go through the brakes when I first bought the truck, so its got all new drums at all 4 corners. Its already lowered a few inches currently. Plan is in a few years to do power disc brakes, dropped spindles, and a complete 5 lug swap at all 4 corners, but right now it to get it back on the road.

This really makes me miss working on frame-based vehicles. You’re clipping along at a pretty fast pace!

The rally wheels with the trim rings and center caps look great. Is that
LeMans Blue you sprayed?

Thanks and the paint color is Medium Blue Poly (factory 67-70 Chevy pickup color) , its alot brighter in the sun than LeMans Blue. My 68 Camaro is LeMans Blue though.

I had a ‘69 Vette roadster in that color. It’s always been my favorite.

I’m a sucker for any blue painted cars. With LeMans and Marina blue being my favorite color for the muscle car Chevy’s
