Not all of it, at least.

Isnt “decriminalized ” basically a cop-out for politicians too timid to just fully legalize it?
Like, we’ll keep it illegal, we just won’t really do anything to you if you have it, maybe write a ticket, but probably not even that.
Its a lways seemed like a shit or get off the toilet situation to me.

Well here in California I just order something online and a friendly, slightly out of focus guy or chick drops by. I really only use it to sleep (Sleepy Time Indica) , but I sometimes hit it an hour before bed and that’s about all I want to do. I was just starting to use it for sleeping a month or so before the pandemic, I hadn’t tried it since college. My friend was a weed pro in college and I think his shit was super strong and I was put off that. I literally take one hit these days and I’m useless to do anything. It seems really stupid to make it illegal now that I have tried it again, alcohol is so much worse for people medically and socially. There is no way I would get violent on weed, I just want to watch some TV, chill and fall asleep. Honestly if anyone has trouble sleeping, try the Indica meant for sleeping, after the military and trying various things so I can fall asleep or to stop waking up in the middle of the night, it’s great and I don’t feel messed up in the morning.

That would be unenforced.

Agreed. Harm reduction all the way. Prohibiting drugs doesn’t work and it gets you stuff like meth and fentanyl. Quit doing street level enforcement nonsense and spend that money doing real police work

Enforcement is a great make work project for some who might not want to something more difficult.

I think that’s kinda low on the list used to figure out if a country is a good place to live

Is decriminalized the same as legal for recreational use?

Decriminalize still means shifting it from a criminal offense to a civil offense, not legalization. Its a weak kneed half measure designed to appease people on both sides of the fence without satisfying either. I have no respect for it.

Germany unenforced? Ahahahahahahhaahaha NO. I’ve had friends who got hefty fines for owning broccoli. Bavaria, my home st ate, is super strict.

How is the NL just decriminalized when you can legally go to a store and buy weed? Or go to a coffee shop and smoke all you want there. And there are literal city signs noting where you can't smoke it, meaning it's legal elsewhere. I would have thought they were in the unenforced category if not outright legal.

Thanks!
Exactly what I wanted to write.
In Berlin on the other hand, i smelled weed in the streets and parks on several occasions

I got stopped in Bavaria multiple times. One time when I drove into the parking garage under my building. The police officers actually told me they stopped me only because of my Dutch plates, and they wanted to do a drug test.
I was speechless. It’s very similar to racism I guess. The pure ignorance was stunning. I guess Bavaria is ‘special’ that way.

Agreed. We, the Dutch, kind of started this if I’m not mistaken. At the time it was meant to not go against international law or something like that, which I partly understand. In 2020 it is just sad. However, we’ve had conservative people in power for ages now, and ideology is apparently more important than reality.

It’s illegal, but the police officially looks away. But only for personal use. When you have less than 5 grams on you and/or have no more than 5 plants, you will not be fined. They can still confiscate the stuff though, although they probably won’t . If you have more, you could face some problems .
The way those ‘coffee’ shops get their weed is a legal grey zone as well.
I understand this system from a 1980s perspective. We should have progressed from this , but conservative ideology has halted progress .

Yeah, Bavaria is special in many ways. Some times for good but in some cases for worse.

The police is chronically underfunded and the red/green government of Berlin isn’t helping at all. Bavaria is super strict while Berlin is very lax, too lax for my taste.
