I’m just imagining some stuck up rich guy finding out his F40 heads were transported in such a cheap car and getting all pissy about it lol.
Nice car BTW...my dad has the same car sans rallyfication. I think he’s over 320,000 miles and it’s still going strong.

I am surprised the exhaust ports are that small.

Seems a bit risky to have them just floating around back there. I’d want them bubble wrapped or something at least.

Holy shit, those things are tiny!!!
Maybe these are only semi-finished castings waiting to be port matched to manifolds? I hope?

Your car makes me miss my Camry. Not enough to go out and buy one tho.

Now that I look at it more I think that those are smaller ports that come off the bottom of the head for emissions or something.

They are actually on the intake side. Even weirder!

Bsck when I was building my racecar and helping out the race shop in exchange for thier support of my fledgling efforts, I gave a particular Ferrari owner and ride back to his office a few times in my 91 F-150. It was an old truck in nice shape, but I imagine it was still quite the contrast to the 550 Marenello he just dropped off.

Cool!

I think they are coolant pipes. Some high performance engines have left the coolant routing outside the cylinder heads. Weight savings I guess?
The mating surface in the engine block has a fairly little amount of openings.

I believe you are correct. Though I don't think its weight savings, I think its more about properly cooling each combustion chamber and avoiding hot spots in the engine.
