Wow that’s surprising.

I used to work for a Hearst company is now part of Hearst Autos (before Hearst Autos was a thing)...it was their online automotive advertising agency, Jumpstart. Was a great team but there were quite a few shake ups in management that rubbed many folks the wrong way not too long after I left.

In general it’s a crazy huge empire that you don’t hear too much about in the outside world (honestly I didn’t have a clue what Hearst was until that job). BaT hit the big times ages ago so no sadness on my part as far as losing something small and community based for the regular car guy goes.

Not super surprising. When I talk to small start up types, a large amount of them have the sole goal of building themselves just large enough to cash out.

I say good for those guys. I’ve seen the one owner on the TST podcast before. He’s a legit car dude and seems nice enough.
