How do I call Birb 911? There’s been a murder, or at least an assault.
At first I was hopeful that he flew off, but as I was looking around the area, I saw signs of struggle. There were some flight feathers littered about. RIP little fella, I hope you’re in birb heaven where you have a nice nest and enjoy all the doggy kibble your little heart desires.

Crows man. Crows love a baby bird.

Aw man RIP. A few weekends ago I saw a little baby bird in the middle of the street and re united him with his chirping family!....Then the very next weekend I hit a bird on our street in my wifes forester:(

Maybe he killed another bird and is now on the run?
Also, birds aren’t real.

I was driving yesterday and passed a turtle on a rustic country back road. I turned around when it was safe about a quarter mile down the road to go back and help the little guy. Much like Randall! But despite that I only passed one car on the way back, the turtle didn’t need my help when I arrived.
Tough week.

I watched a local crow (LC) eat two baby birds this summer!

Or raccoons or possums. They won’t chase a bird down, but they’ll eat chicks as well as their eggs.

Just yesterday I rescued a baby bird that fell out of its nest too early. Hopefully it’ll be okay? The kids say it’s still in the nest with its siblings and the parents are coming and going a lot. They sure did make a lot of noise when I was trying to pick it up!

Your comment made me think of this and gave me a good laugh. Thank you.

This is true. Ozzy was so confused when I initially brought him home, he was like “WTF is all this racket? What is this thing? A nugget? Can I eat it?”

That’s great! I couldn’t get to Randalls nets, so the vet suggested I put him as close as I could and the parents would still take care of him. Guess I wasn’t close enough.

Yeah. This is a tough neighborhood for small animals - I can confirm that we have crows, foxes, wild cats, racoons, and at least one coyote.

My condolences to you as well. Fortunately mine didn’t have a name other than turtle.

My wife has been giving me a lot of crap for getting attached to Randall after only 30 minutes. But I love all most of god’s creatures. Just not bugs and spiders.

Ticks, wasps, ants, and roaches for me. I’m attempting to make peace with honeybees and bumblebees despite that they scare me. Most other bugs I try to help. I usually try to scoop the spiders up. They’re pretty cool but I understand why a lot of people wouldn’t like them.
