I am visiting northwestern Connecticut to spend time with my mother after the not unexpected death of my father this past week. This is what greeted me when taking the dog for the morning walk at the “Inn” - yes, Lime Rock racetrack is in the next town over.
After this, instead of going down the street to grab our breakfast, I blasted around the country roads a bit first. I have had to drive so slow with the wife and dog in the car, despite knowing the roads, so it was a nice break to be solo with basically no one else on the roads . It would have been more fun in the GTI, but the turbo Outback does very well and can handle the unimprove d roads that have to be used to get to some spots around the area.

Sorry to hear that. At least the pandemic has eased up enough to allow you to visit and grieve as one should.
There was an incident near me where a young kid was killed by a car while on a bike and a friend of a friend who knew him took it very hard. It didn’t help that no one was allowed to have a proper funeral.

Well, we can’t have a proper memorial gathering anytime soon. That’s unfortunate, although it relieves some immediate pressure.
And we are taking a calculated risk that my brother, my wife and I won’t get my mother sick.

Skip Barber appears to have been bought and restarted only using the name.
The local version is back to limited operations post-COVID restrictions, it seems.
This despite NIMBYs who successfully limited operations of the race track that was PROBABLY THERE BEFORE THEY MOVED NEXT TO IT. Grrr.

I feel that risk is justified, even if just for her sake to comfort her. I’m sorry for your loss, but good thing it didn’t happen a month earlier.
