The fix? A wire jumper to bypass the rear wiper motor. After a million threads and years of trying to find a solution, I stumbled upon a link to a YouTube video that seemed too good to be true. It wasn’t. After all of my experience with the 4Runner, I can 100% say that GM engineers are more competent, the bean counters are just worse.

That is a very apt assessment. GM could design some truly world-beating stuff but the agressive cost cutting either keeps that stuff from happening or turns it into a hilarious footnote on how not to build something (Northstar, anyone?)
