How do you like the blue?

Actually haven’t had Blue in a long, long time.

I am a bourbon drinker usually, but blue is so damn smooth... simply amazing. $156 or so at Costco, and my dad got me a bottle recently just because, plus I have one from my housewarming.

I also have a bottle of Jack Daniels Sinatra which is spectacular. Might imbibe in one of those next.

How do you like it when you do have it? I usually don’t drink scotch unless it’s Blue or Macallan.

I just remember it being floral. Not really my palate. I’m more of peaty like Laphroaig.

Ouch. Peat is one thing I can’t do. It just smells and tastes like paint thinner to me.

Everyone asking about your drink... So how’s the Solo? Worth the money?

I love the solo. It has a few drawbacks - mainly the unwieldy way of emptying the ash out of the Yukon (45 lbs), but it burns so nicely. I have the spark arrester on back order and it’s pricey, but it’s the best fire pit that exists. Easy to start a fire, it burns hot, it doesn’t smoke much, it leaves just a little bit of ash, and it’s well constructed. 5 stars.

You actually reminded me that I still have some Island Green. Just poured myself some.

I did Jack Daniels Sinatra Select. Nice stuff.

Hard to beat a finger of whiskey.

I got to try Blue for the first time a few months ago, but I gotta say it tastes just like Black to me. Which is to say it’s good, but I’ll just stick with Black because it’s dirt cheap by comparison . And if I’m honest, I like Green a whole lot more than Black.

Damn, now I wish I had some scotch in the house.

I haven’t had them side by side, but I hate Black and love Blue. I’d rather have red than black. It might be placebo of opening an expensive bottle, but black tastes like smoke to me. Blue has a bit of smoke but it’s so damn smooth.

Red tasted like hot garbage to me. I tried Double Black and that was too smoky for my tastes. Green is by far my favorite, if you haven’t tried it I highly recommend you do.

I am just doing 4 roses single barrel (I think that is what was in my decanter ) and sans firepit tonight. I’ve had blue once. I’m not a scotch drinker so it wasn’t for me, but was offered on a flight so I had to get it. It was very, very smooth, but I just do not like the taste. Oh well

Kinja'd!!!

Plus I tried this in the lounge. I did not like that either. The wine was fantastic, at least!

Can’t remember, but I think I did have green once before.

Never had Ballantines that old, but it’s not my first choice either. I drink bourbon 99% of the time, but I’ve been known to down some Irish and Canadian  whiskey before. Only scotch I do is Blue label or Macallans.

Green has slightly higher alcohol content at 42%. You wouldn’t think that’s that big of a difference but I have to watch how much of it I drink because it sneaks up on me.  It’s so good I have trouble stopping.  I don’t keep it in the house anymore.

Hell, say the word and I’ll bring you one.  You’re in Denver, aren’t you?

Moved to Timnath (next to Fort Collins) back in September.

My biggest issue with booze is room or lack there of, but I appreciate the offer. Are you in Denver as well?

My parents go camping fairly often in their camper but my mom complains about always smelling like smoke, so I thought this would be a very nice solution. Then I went to the website, saw the prices and remembered I got a “I love Crawfish” shirt from Sam’s Club for my birthday.

Honestly, they reduce the smoke, but I always smell like smoke after using it. It’s fine when there is zero wind, but as soon as it blows, some smoke does escape.
