I for one enjoy the response to “I’m going to wipe you off in lieu of giving you a bath” being “OMG WHY ARE YOU KILLING ME FATHER DON’T YOU LOVE ME!?”

Targa puts up with the foot wiping, because we have done it every day since we got her, regardless of weather. Washing though, she cannot abide

Our dogs get at least their feet wiped down every morning. Their feet get soaked with the morning dew.
Rocky just got a small swimming pool yesterday. He promptly soaked himself from head to toe. That’s a lab for you.

We go through the same thing with Ozzy. Im beginning to suspect we accidentally got a cat. He doesn’t fetch, play, like to get wet, like to get dried off when wet, or generally be touched. He just wants to stay near us, just out of arms reach, and eat our food.

You can lead a lab to water but you can’t make him drink and he’ll be sure to bring a bunch of that water back with him.

60 lb boxer hates the rain and dries his own feet...160 lb mastiff goes out in the rain, hops around like a gigantic rabbit then lays down in the wettest spot in the yard when shes tired.

Yeah that is how Dog A is. His version of cuddling is sitting in the same room with you. He doesn’t understand fetch... or toys... and would much rather play with me than other dogs.

Ozzy will get on the couch with one of us, sometimes, but never both. And we have to stay on our end and he stays on his end. Sometimes he will tolerate small amounts of petting, but there’s always a chance he will randomly decide he’s had enough and get up and leave.
He loves to meet new people and dogs, but then he’s done. He doesn’t play.
