I have a couple of new tires at home. I'm glad I hadn't switched them out yet.

That sucks, but good that you have some other rubber to toss on there.

That tire is still good! Some bubble gum, a can of stop flat, and maybe some duct tape is all you really need.

You know, the rate at which people on here post about bike failures has me thinking that maybe bikes are stupid.

There are way more car failures though...

I was thinking of filling the tire with that canned expanding foam.

That was lucky. Never seen a photo like this without the screw going into or through the rim.

Passing through the tire twice is just as rare.

And on an old dry rotted tire just before you replaced it!

That’s pretty crazy through hole. Good thing you have tires as they weren’t easy to find (haven’t looked recently).

Good example of what c ould be a dollar bill patch job w/a new tube though.

You have an entry hole. Add an exit hole on the other side of th e wheel so you get complete coverage without exploding the tire.

There are still tire options out there, but the market is a bit messed up. I just bought some expensive tires because the cheaper tires that are my go to are about $10 more apiece than normal, and so not much cheaper than the expensive ones (which are near their all-time low on Amazon).

If you gone roll, roll large. Picture shows how worn-out my tires are. I have new tires that I’m glad I hadn’t fitted yet.
