I think these words still ring true. I regularly drive over the Pacheco Pass past the San Luis Reservoir to see clients in the Salinas Valley.
“ This is no time for retreat and defeat. This is a time for strength, for development, for greatness - a time for bold ideas and brave new programs. And as we face the awesome challenges of the future, we would do well to remember the words of faith that Franklin Roosevelt wrote down on the day before he died - ‘The only limit to our realization of tomorrow will be our doubts of today.’ ”

Anyone with a clue about water management, especially in California, is dizzy from all the eye rolling during the first part of that speech (once he gets through name dropping all the politicians).
Just driving through the inland valleys you can spot one water management disaster after another. It’s a bit apocalyptic once you actually start to study this stuff.

I think Ted Sorenson wrote that one? Real way of words. JFK could really motivate.
