I bought this pop-up at the end of the season last year. Tonight will be its first use. I’m camping in the driveway with my daughters tonight.
I looks tatty on the outside, but the canvas and screens are excellent, and the interior is minty fresh. For the $1600 I paid, if I get three years out of it, I’ll be happy.
The only issue I’ve had setting it up, is the top of the door catches the weatherstripping.
Some friends and I will likely be camping in it at Road America for the IndyCar races in a few weeks. I'm hoping to get the family out a couple times this summer too.

Looks like fun, it seems rather put together for $1600.

Now all you need are the out of season Christmas lights.
Looks like a good score.

It was a good deal. End of season/divorce sale helped that cause. They were asking $2500, but as quickly as my offer was accepted, I definitely left some money on the table! Oh well :)

That’s awesome. I’d have to see the inside to be sure but that looks like the same era and model that my parents had when I was growing up. Looks exactly as I remember it. I think they bought it new in the late ‘90s or early ‘00s. What year is yours? Does yours still have the gas grill that hangs of the side next to the door ?

My father and I camped for years in an old pop up camper. We had some interesting adventures when things failed. If you have a few laying around, cut a broomstick to fit in the track for the roof mechanism to hold it on place. When the cables snap, they generally give no warning.
Good luck with it!

If you didn’t want to use it this year you could probably sell it for a good bit with everyone looking for one for summer trips.
I had the same thought earlier this week and was way too late for any deals.

It crossed my mind, but then I'd have sad kids.

Its a ‘97 or ‘98. I can’t remember which. It has a gas stove that hangs on the side.

I have wanted an A-frame because I wanted something light but fairly weatherproof, but that was when I had fantasies of working full-time from the road. Now that I’ve pretty much given up on that dream a pop-up like that is appealing, will have to start looking around.

Ohhh yeah, I remember that patterned u pholstery. Damn, I had forgotten all about that thing! We must’ve had it for about ten years. We used the hell out of that thing too.

The only vehicle I’ve ever purchased brand new is our 2007 Coleman Sedona tent trailer. I paid ~$7,800 for it brand new. I’ve pulled it from the Pacific to the Atlantic and back twice. Time to get it ready to go to Utah for the new grandbaby that’s due late next month. I told you about the boink truss, didn’t I? Do you need some information on that?

We had the same upholstery fabric in a much smaller unit. My Mom redid all the cushions and the curtains. Was quite nice.

Fantastic. I went camping in my yard (woods) last night with my kids, but in a tent. The weather couldn’t be better, 80 in the day and ~50 at night, but at their age, the fact that it’s still pretty light out at 9:15 wasn’t helpful. They’re usually long asleep by then. But... we didn’t have big plans today and they were fine. With no rain in the forecast, we’ll probably do it again in the coming nights before taking the tent down.
The big test will be going to an island on our lake this summer, I’m planning that mentally and we’ll do it in July if we get the right weather mid-week.

Looks like my Niagra without the slide. You got a good deal. The bummer of these models is the mattress. The foam ages badly and they aren’t thick to begin with. You might bottom out on the plywood and there isn’t room underneath the cap for anything more than 4.5 inches on a permanent basis. Buying new mattresses this week for mine. Spendy because of the odd shape

So far it's ok, but we'll see how sore I am in the morning. The PO put some rubber tiles under there to help. Seems better than nothing!

The light is an issue here too. My kids usually go to bed between 7 and 8. We’ll be ok though. I've been planning this for a while now. The weather was better for it yesterday, but my kids where being not great, so I didn't want to reward them. Tonight is warmer than I'd like, it's 75 going down to 64 throughout the night, but still pretty good.

The A-frames are too small for our needs. A pop-up offers us enough space, while still being easy to tow.

I think so. They are allowing fans, and we have a camping spot reserved. We need to call and confirm that we'll actually be allowed to camp there.

I added half an inch of carpet passing to mine but all it did was make the bottom out less pointed

Very roomy inside! Is that a 16 footer? Last year my folks camped in a little 12 ft Jayco that my dad traded a fishing boat for, it was just enough space for the two of them and their black lab, I chose to sleep outside in my tent. My dad and I just recently flipped a $20, 16 foot, 1996 viking, and Man! Was that thing spacious inside! It needed some canvas repair (but nothing that someone handy with sewing couldn’t fix), but if it didnt, we probably would have ended up using it for the summer. We sold it the next day for $600 though, so it worked out well! The lady that bought it was in her 60's and is using it for her 90(!) year old mother to sleep in behind her RV (so she told us on the phone), I was shocked when she pulled up and the RV was a MINT 1989 Ford Econoline camper van! That thing was a beauty!! Best of all, she said the canvas repair would be no problem at all for her
