Very nice.
My dad bought a new one of these in ‘73 to deliver newspapers in. He put 24k miles on it in a year, then the first gas crisis hit. The value of small cars skyrocketed. Tired of making car payments, he sold it back to the dealer for more than he paid.
He then went and bought a ‘62 Buick Wildcat with a 401 Nailhead for $200.

I like the cut of your dad's jib.

Yeah :)
Unfortunately, he was jacking around in the snow, slid into a curb, and ripped the rear end right out from under it.

Not sure about the body colored bumpers, maybe throw in a two tone roof as well, but beautiful. I never see these things on the road or even at shows.

What a great color! Needs a wood+chrome roof rack, but otherwise spectacular.

Just the roof or also the pillars?

Yes, quite sharp, but the interior is thrashed.

I especially like the wheels.

I used to like roof racks until I had one on a car and didn’t like all the noise it made at highway speed because turbulence.

Color matched steelies with chrome hubcaps just look so right on this.

I’m surprised, given the outside condition.
Also I believe that is a 1961-63 model. They weren’t imported to the US until 1966.

I’m no good at visualization so I’d have to see it both ways.

I’ve come to appreciate steel wheels. The only advantage to nonferrous rims would be reduction in unsprung weight, and I do not know if that would be significant if your car were not something like an Ariel Atom that weighed 500 pounds.

I was surprised as well. I’d have thought paint would be the last thing.

I have steel wheels with hubcaps on my car that look just fine and are easier to clean and keep looking nice. I’ve never known a steel wheel to fracture on a curb either, but I’ve known plenty of people who have had to replace an alloy. That said, I wouldn’t turn down some sick rims.

Fair enough, for me the utility is worth the trade off, but I actually use mine so maybe it’s different.

Yes. I maybe used mine once.
