At first, I thought that the name was an unfortunate coincidence, then I realized that it’s an intentional alternate spelling of burlesque.

Funny aside - One of my distant relatives was a burlesque star in the ‘30s. It’s funny that her pictures pop up when we google the family name. Scandalous!

Wait, I just realized the building next door is the Two O'Clock Club, which does still do burlesque shows. I've never been, pretty much always drive up to Philly instead of over to Baltimore
