Not the wheels, not the missing tow hook cap... Follow the link and click through (photo #37).

Related: some OPPO should buy this. Think it will make $

So... air bags? I mean... the execution looks clean but also does Viair make anything other than tire inflators? Is... is that just two tire inflators hard wired to a tank?

What is that? a nuclear reactor?

Found the reason

Yeah, easy enough to swap out for a traditional suspension, I guess, but I’d be surprised if this sells for more than $25k (and it would sell for ~$35k with the OEM suspension).

Seems professionally done and mounted nice and out of the way. Thorough documentation, lots of pictures, low miles, professionally modded, this is the car for someone who would have done the same themselves, of which there are many out there.

LOL - air suspension.

I think that 2008 makes it to 15k, especially with all those maintenance records.

Many?
I’ll be surprised if this sells for over $25k. Would sell for ~$35k on OEM suspension.

I went to the link thinking, how am I going to know what picture is number 37? I can’t count that high!
Then, I didn’t need to count because the reason was blatantly obvious.
I get wanting to modify, even in that way. But I don’t envy anyone trying to sell this thing.

But seriously, three pedals is worth a couple grand to buyers compared with the DCT in these.

I never said it didn’t devalue the car and that this wasn’t a CP. Should have.

I hope so. With all the preventative stuff done, it’s ready to make the next owner happy for 100k miles.

Who the fuck is putting air suspension on an M3? File this under D for dumb.
![]() 06/16/2020 at 11:27 |

AH. yeah, people who bag their cars are worse than hitler
![]() 06/16/2020 at 11:27 |

Yup - I assume that’s a $2-3000 modification, and it dropped the sale price by ~$10k.

At least they didn’t take it this far...

Have you been driving your car? Because you should. =)

Not as much recently, been trying to make an effort to. It’s either been crap weather or I ’ve been out of town. Did burn through half a tank the other weekend, which was nice.

Jesus christ. I live somewhere with terrible roads and that pic is giving me an xiety.

I’ve been consistently getting it out at least once a week, which has been really enjoyable. Had
a fun backroads drive a while back, but need another one (or a track day). Need to get it to the dealer for a couple recalls, and a couple other little minor maintenance items.

My guess on the 2008 is about 17k. Its a high-miler and it kinda looks like the guy is trying to flip it. I saw a lower mile same year sell for about that 3-4 years ago.
![]() 06/16/2020 at 11:38 |
|
LOL - same.
![]() 06/16/2020 at 11:39 |

I don’t see it going that high, actually, but would be great if it did! I’m guessing my 126k mile example is worth about that.
![]() 06/16/2020 at 11:41 |
|
I’m assuming it’s street parked because those super flat driveways still cause it to scrape.

Air ride suspension on an M3, and is it missing a few lug bolts? (I think these BMW’s use lug bolts)
![]() 06/16/2020 at 12:12 |
|
How to ruin you car's value: give it to me for a year or so
![]() 06/16/2020 at 12:17 |

It IS missing some lug bolts! Holy crap... I can’t believe they didn’t replace them before taking the pictures to put it up for sale.

Failed safety inspection
Passed emissions inspection

What is wrong with air ride? Its installed clean and will ride and handle just as good if not better than stock. Heck even aftermarket brands such as Fortune auto and others sell air ride suspension that is high quality
![]() 06/16/2020 at 12:49 |
|
It’s not aired out in the dealer pics. It probably sits this low then.
![]() 06/16/2020 at 12:57 |

Probably broken off in the hub
![]() 06/16/2020 at 13:00 |
|
Yeah, maybe.
![]() 06/16/2020 at 13:12 |
|
Oh, the ride will be better! But the handling? Show me a modern racing car on bags and maybe I’ll believe you.
Even though few M3 owners take their car to the track, these cars are at home there. This owner decreased the inherent
capability of his car (like someone lowering a Wrangler Rubicon).
Now, I have zero problem with this, if that’s what you want to do
! Do what you want with your car to suit your needs/wants. But the fact remains this will sell for ~$
10k less because of it.

Someone noticed missing lug bolts.

![]() 06/17/2020 at 11:02 |

I imagine it doesn’t go maybe places where it doesn’t scrap. God forbid you hit road construction...
![]() 06/17/2020 at 16:04 |

Modding a car in general usually reduces the value... at least in my eyes.
The exception to this is installing aftermarket 4 wheel disk brakes on a Fox-body Mustang as the stock brakes are crap.
![]() 06/17/2020 at 16:05 |
|
“Probably broken off in the hub”
And too cheap or too stupid to bother fixing it. Hard Crack Pipe at the asking price.
![]() 06/17/2020 at 16:09 |
|
Yup. The exception to this, and least on these cars, is a professional
supercharger install, or super-high-quality wheels
or exhaust.

We may have found the floor on manual E90s. =)

That’s kind of crazy, but I guess a well maintained 6MT example is going to hold it’s value well. Give it 5 more years and these are going to start appreciating.
