Tonight I did two very easy tasks that are not really that easy. First I replaced the hatch strut, then I replaced the air filter. That was $80 in parts including shipping. Much of my fondness for this car is the ability to still source parts for reasonable prices.

I also found a used and hopefully functioning brake master cylinder that is period correct for my car. Fingers crossed it works.

... and the list... this is for this year and hopefully all I have to do for a while.

Progress is excellent - the little things to keep you motivated are very important. I hit a wall on my Mazda last fall and it sat. This March I started tackling a couple small insignificant cosmetic things (like sanding and repainting wiper stalks) and it motivated me again getting something done.

Tonight I finished the drivers ball joints and I think she’s ready for an inspection and plates now!

When you’re done with that list you might as well change the torsion spring for my Camaro’s trunk. It’s too weak to keep the trunk lid open, and I’m too chicken to change it. That back window glass ain’t cheap.

Seems like something like that would come preloaded. Otherwise it would be near impossible to install.

Looks great, other than it needs a B210 as a buddy

I don’t need another crappy Datsun.

Nope, it a rod that’s twisted to provide tension. Mine is in the same situation as this guy’s but he’s not a chicken shit like me.

The tranny mount and the bushings make things so much better if they need changing. It is nice to have so many available parts, and not so expensive.

They really do need changing, the steering rack moves about 2 mm back and forth. The transmission feels like it’s hanging from a string.

That’s not gone well.

Now you know why I still have a chunk of wood in my trunk to keep the lid open!
