BIZAM! Here be #3
!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!
!
Continuing the theme of going with classic cars with simplistic gauges for my first few, I went with the legendary Trabant P601! But not just ANY Trabant, I went with the P601S....S for “Sonderwunsch”, i.e. Special! The ‘S’ c
ame with such advanced features as front FOG LIGHTS, an ODOMETER, or an LED Fuel Economy meter thinger (on the right)! SUCH LUXURY!
I think I need to find a better font for the model / nickname, but I can’t find any similar at all to the original Trabant branding script...
I’m done this one, but it sortof feels incomplete to me...the Trabant gauges sortof stretch over a section of the dash unlike the 500 or 2CV where they were sortof more..concentrated? I could put some sort of background behind them, I guess, but I do kindof like them ‘floating’ there as they are what you would be focused on when driving the car anyway. :)

2 more to go...not sure what I’ll do next!

For the next one, you can try something different :

Once again, I recommend the Anglia. You might also try some Citroens like the Ami or maybe the SM. I like Citroens.

I’ll likely try the Anglia or other Citroens at some point! Not yet though, I don’t think...as I need 5 art ‘pieces’ to ‘open’ the store, I’ve been going with classic
cars that sortof are popular/have a cult following as RedBubble is, after all, a store and I’m putting things on there to see if I can sell any at all :)
Other Citroens are popular too, like the DS and SM...and the Ami! But the 2CV is by far the most popular I think. As for the Anglia, I don’t know much about them, so no idea at all how popular they are, haha! I’ll focus on different ones eventually once I have the first 5 up as then I can sortof start focusing on things I just feel like doing :P

Hmmm....that would be awesome, might be a bit tricky, but who knows! :D

Yes, it wouldn't be worth your time to do something too obscure, especially to begin with. Lots of those quirky old cars with quirky old gauge clusters do have cult followings, fortunately.

You can find some ideas here (the cluster category for a shop selling classic cars parts) .
I like the Mehari one :
Or on a different theme, from a Peugeot 102 mopped :
The DS after 69 might be too complex :
A Simca Rallye 2 might be a solution :
An Austin Mini :
A R5 GT Turbo :
A R5 Turbo 2 :

I had thought about doing a classic Mini cluster...i.e. the old center-dash-mounted type!

Once I have enough I’ll likely branch into whatever I want, but for the first few I’ll go with ones that people would like! Still not sure what my next one will be...the classic Mini cluster might be a good option (that I listed as a reply to Jb boin above)
