It is as the title says. This was with cruise control going between 70mph -75mph. They really geared the manual for fuel economy. By 4th gear I’m an close to a 1:1 ratio and still have 2 gears left to go. At that speed I’m gliding along at about 2000rpm.

I got something like 4-5mpg out of my E46 wagon doing open practice sessions at Team O’Neil. Many more smiles per gallon indeed.

Next Sunday we are driving from Houston to the Table Rock Lake, MO area. Wonder what the mileage in the Suburban will be? Fully loaded with 6 people and stuff for a week, and a 4 bike rack in the hitch.
I’m guessing 18 mpg round trip (depending on wind, which in the ‘Burb is a large factor).

That’s impressive for a Gas VW! My TDI has that same transmission with 5 and 6 both being overdrive gears. I average 36 in town driving but 45 on the highway. If I keep it down at the 70-75 it gets closer to 50 but with the cruise set at 80 44 mpg is my average.

Do most MPG counter enter 0 mph as getting 0 mpg? I feel like it really messed with my results. That is some fantastic mileage. My car usually only gets around 35-32 mpg on the highway depending on hills. 28 or so in the city. But it doesn’t read that because the moment I come to a stop it starts counting those 0s and my mpg plummets. Lifetime average is like 22 mpg or something, which doesn't seem correct.

I was driving through some A ppalachian mountains in western MD a year or two ago in the wifes Hybrid Crosstrek. I had done a oil change before the trip and I always reset everything every oil change (mpg, trip counter, etc.)
It is rated for like 30 city/34 hwy, I was getting like 40 mpg after driving 4 hours.
