Aired October 15, 1981.
I’m pretty sure I watched this on a 12" B&W when I was little.
Also, I can confirm that GM’s X-body recall on the rear drum brakes didn’t work. I had a used ‘81 Citation in high school and had to put 4-45lb plates in the rear hatch to keep the ass end from swapping places in the wet.

Is it just me, or were their older reviews more through? Personally, I’d like to still see more decibel reading comparisons.

The first ever TopGear from 1977 .
So many people say TopGear is a mens only show, solely aimed at the male audience.
Where TopGear actually started out as an news segment and became it’s own entity, hosted by the show’s first ever presenter, Angela Rippon.

I had a work colleague once who owned an X-11 Citation...
He’d delight in showing us how he could literally LOCK UP the fronts and still get ZERO braking effort out of the rears. It was a completely fukt GM design. Awful

It’s been rejigged a few times over the years, often going back to the original piece.
Some things change, some stay the same while others return.

Probably right. But looking back in hindsight, they were boring at the start

Fun fact: A fter 3.5 rotations on ice, I missed striking 3 parked cars on the left side of the street but struck a mailbox on the right side. This after driving about 2 miles in an ice storm, over an interstate overpass, with black ice everywhere, and didn’t put a foot wrong. I just had to make a left turn a block up to drop my coworker off from our part time jobs.
...but my dumbass had to try and prove I had exper t car control doing 5 mph on a narrow street in a subdivision since we've made it that far without fail
