It doesn’t get more SoCal than putting the boards on the classic W123 and heading to the beach.
Only in the last week has LA started to feel “normal” again. And, yeah, traffic is way, way up.
Bonus Round: Box Truck with Reefer Unit.
If only EssExTee could be so grossly incandescent

And cases are going up in some places. I’ve been at the beach up north of you but I can see miles with only a handful of people. They closed the parking here to the more popular beaches so locals and anyone who might bike there could go. I still won’t go there.

And I am a W123 driver, I like your color. I have a wagon for roof hauling, I’ve never tried to do it on this car.

Sweet. My W123 is a 240D manual— and needs a new engine. It’s got ZERO rust (spent its life out in Redlands), but is that “calf poop brown” color which for some reason was very mid-1970s popular.
Around Santa Barbara you still see a lot of W123s, like the wagon pictured, and even older 250C and 280C coupes. It’s nice that people loved ‘em so much and kept them all those years.

Yeah, they did the same trick in SB and Ventura counties... the beaches weren’t strictly closed, but they kept the beach parking lots padlocked.
So, people just parked on the side streets, annoyed the neighbors, and kept at it.

Ah that explains the Euro color, I suspected. There is a really pretty darker green that I would pick for a TD, your color on a TD would be pretty too. Mine is a 1983 300D, has a low mileage engine, I was told someone ruined the original somehow. I live in Marin, tons of them and old Volvos were bought here and are still around. No rust here, but it was all undercoated with Por 15 by the previous owner, inside of the boot too .
I would like a wagon but I have other cars so I can’t hunt one down and sell this sedan, wagons in good shape sell for more than the sedans. My grandpa had a CD but I thought they looked awkward.
