Econoline seen on the 101 on the way out of Ventura County the other day.
You see these once in awhile in SoCal and it’s always a day-brightener. Plus, it’s a great color on this body style.
This is what we'll show whenever you publish anything on Kinja:

One of the few places I think candy paint is not only acceptable but attractive.

I think it was his “working truck” too... he got off the freeway in a light industrial area of Camarillo and seemed to have a purpose. It’s not a show truck but it was very striking.

It’s not a great color. It’s the only color.

I have never seen one on the road or at a show that I know of, but those are epic.

My father and a 61 econline truck just like that, except it was mostly a shitbox project, didn’t stop me from having to borrow it for a month when my van’s transmission died, it was crazy to drive

Growing up in the midwest? I don’t think I saw one in 20 years...
Not common in SoCal, but you see ‘em once in awhile. This one was well sorted.

The only one I've seen ever was at Old Car City USA. Just one (1). I'm sure they were even less common on the wide open roads of the Midwest than here near a major and poorly planned city. The roads inside Atlanta can get pretty narrow so I bet something like that would have had a niche audience. Striking proportions in person.

Found a picture of my dad’s 61, not sure why it has the doors off in this picture but it did run and drive. I believe he found this one on ebay, but it was a local vehicle, went and bought it for $200. He sold it like 5 years ago, was a very odd vehicle to drive.

Wow. I’d forgotten how “not fun in a frontal crash” that cab must have been...

So a previous owner of this vehicle had installed a 150 pound steel plate between the frame and the bed at the very tail of the truck as these were known to do brake hard enough to lift the rear wheels in a panic stop with an empty bed, everytime i drove it i just kept in mind that if i was in an accident they would probably just cruah the rest of the truck around me and bury me that way
