I think this is something you need to know about.

Pulls strong, strong like only 67 HP can pull?

Maybe their other vehicle is a Geo Metro running on 2 cylinders?

6 speed? I thought it was 4 or 5. I want it though.

Man, that's pretty cheap!

Guessing 5+Low?
![]() 06/09/2020 at 13:47 |

I thought it was 4+low for the standard

I think you meant “Paging Oppo” on this one.

I’d only be interested if it had the plaid interior like his last one. Plus I misread the location and thought it was in Washington.

That’s what I thought. I thought it was a 5-spd with first being a granny gear.

Sometimes it’s hard to figure out if everyone likes Dr. Z or really really hates him.

Yeah, a 6 surprises me too.

Oh I dunno. My 8 6 Civic was 5+Low.

I imagine “typical rust” means a very different thing in Wisconsin than in Washington....when I see that in Washington it means, like, surface rust on the lugnuts and maybe a bubble or two around the windshield
. In Wisconsin I’m pretty sure
that means you can see through the floorboards and fenders.

Reverse is a speed right?

I believe enabler is a word that fits here well.

I’m in Ohio and when I think of a 35yo Toyota with “typical rust” I think, wow I’m surprised there’s enough left to show up in pictures.

And in 70% of our posts here, if we’re honest.

And it’s aided by the fact that no matter how peculiar someone’s particular automotive fetish may be that there’s at least one other person here that shares it.

That’s what my memory said too, as I s pent plenty of time thrashing them on dirt roads & trails all over southern Vermont.
Murilee Martin confirms the 6MT , though:

Maybe only the SR5 had granny low?

Very cool. I wish that was the transmission the 1st gen RAV4 got. It desperately needed a crawler gear, even in daily use. 1st was just too tall to do hill starts with any kind of a load.

Nope, 5 plus granny gear (EL) in 4WD

Sadly, I can’t even own a Corolla without issues. I failed three times with individual Tercels.
But boy do I really, really, really want another one.

More than you think, but more than nothing is close to nothing.

Maybe it’s a sign that you should try one of the quirky 4x4 Hondas or Mitsubishis next?
After seeing the tales of your last example trying to kill you on numerous occasions being gun shy is probably a proper reaction.

Maybe my next car should be a pair of running shoes

Running, this is not a word I recognize. Do they make shoes specifically for tripping because that’s what I do at speeds greater than a brisk walk?
