Going on five years with this car and I still love it.
49,400 miles. I’ve had to have the following repairs:
- Driver’s seat reupholstered under warranty.
- Left rear chrome trunk trim replaced under warranty.
- New brakes before I felt they should be required (I have Raybestos ones on now that are great.)
- One lug nut replaced because the tire shop that rotated my tires messed it up.
I’ve done the following mods:
AVS vent visors
Tinted windows
Chrome mirror trim
Remote start
Heated seats
Trailer hitch/bike rack
Rear Spoiler
Mazda valve stem caps
Navigation
Husky Liners floor mats
OEM Mazda trunk liner
OEM Mazda rear bumper guard
My next and likely final mod will be the software update and upgraded USB port that enables Apple CarPlay.
It has been and continues to be a great car. I have no plans to get rid of it until I upgrade to a 2016+ Mazda CX-9 or a 2018+ Mazda6 Grand Touring Reserve or Signature. Considering this car is paid off, that won’t be for a while. I’m getting spoiled with not having a car payment.

Nice Acadia! I didn’t know you replaced Jolene.

Gross. I hate Acadias and Enclaves and Traverses. It’s my mother-in-law’s. I took these pics at their house.
I actually told her not to buy an Acadia based on my mechanic’s recommendation and she did anyway.

I was kidding. I thought it was ironic because you purposely avoided the Acadia when looking for your wife.
If the new Traverse came in nicer colors than just red, I’d be a big fan.

Oh. Yeah. I did avoid it. I just don’t like them And they don’t have the best long-term reputation . In fact, this one is a 2014 with 70,000 miles and its A/C is out.

It’s weird to see newer cars having bad issues. I never had a big issue between 50,000 and 103,000 miles (when I drove the RAV4). The two wrecks that cost thousands in damage were the only repairs and times it was in the shop for a while.

The lady I bought Jolene the Sunbird from was driving her three kids around in it because her 2016 Grand Caravan’s A/C was out and it was in the middle of the summer here. I found that odd and shitty as well.
The Acadia has an issue where the driver’s vent blows cold air but none of the others do. So, all of the passengers get hot air.
