I don’t think whoever chose that name knows what emeralds look like. I honestly thought the car was black at first.
The actual official name of the colour in Polish is “122 Szmaragd Metaliczny”.

Unfortunately, only up to 5 characters are allowed on vanity plates here. Would have to be ISGRN or ITGRN. :P

Glad you like it! The sticker on the D pillar says “Caro”, which is what they called the 1991 facelift of the Polonez. :)

Yeah, you don’t see them around anymore, and if you do it’s the later Daewoo facelifted version.
It’s not going to be my main car, but I’ll probably take it to work every now and then. The big plan for this car is to drive it to England next year.

I’ve seen these since I was a kid when travelling to China decades ago. They were commonly used as taxis alongside with the B2 Passat/Santanas and Mk2 Jettas.
