Porsche 968 Turbo S (c1993)

P orsche Motosports produced 14 turbo-charged versions of the 968 based on the CS but with bonnet scoops, deeper front spoiler and an adjustable rear wing. it was powered by a 305hp 3.0 8v turbo-charged 4-cylinder engine.

the cars were effectively road going versions of the Turbo RS customer racing version of the 968.

For years, I though t this car had a turbo version of the 16v engine that the rest of the 968's use. Mark ing its difference from 944 turbo’s, and why it commanded such a premium. Was disproportionately disappointed when I found out it was an 8v. Apart from that I love everything about it, but don’t understand the difference in price between a 944 turb’ s or a 968CS for that matter.

Let’s face it, you bolt those wheels on any Porsche (o r Audi!) and you can’t go wrong!

They didn’t sell a lot of 968's compared to the 944, and made less than 2000 of the Clubsports, that’s likely the only reason its value is high (it has the same engine as the standard 968).

From there it’s whittled down to just 14 Turbo S examples..... 944 Turbo S production was ~1500 ?

I think only four Turbo RS’s were made, one even raced at Le Mans.
