Too much battery life lost from the drag and excess drain when I add all the mirrors and lights, I bet.
And otherwise, what’s the point? Or phrased differently,
why should I care? Why should I care?

I didn’t, but that just makes the picture funnier.

I would at the right price.
When looking at ebikes (the ones that actually look like bicycles with an added motor/battery) and asking the age-old NPoCP question, most fall into the CP territory since the prices are competing with used cars.
The two things preventing me from electric transport are the high up-front cost and charging infrastructure (which is getting better) .

“Gas guzzling engine of yore" - doesnt a Vespa do like, 100+ mpg?

if i was so inclined and set on spending that kind of money on a new scooter...yes. Its not like you ever need to travel big distances on one...they are mostly house tenders, ferrying you from home to and from shopping.

Fuck yeah I would. That thing is like walking around a park with a puppy.
How could a bad person ever own such a thing?

What are you unofficially?
![]() 06/06/2020 at 13:51 |

Depends on the range. Vespa already has their own EV bike though, which has their signature styling, etc...this one looks a bit TOO futuristic-y for me.
https://www.vespa.com/ca_EN/vespa-models/vespa-elettrica.html
The current one is just an EV-ified version of their current petrol ones, so it has the same nice styling and can even do about 100km in range...not too shabby!

My initial thought was hell yes. The lack of mirrors in favor of lidar though seems like an absolutely terrible idea to me. I’d want the mirrors and no lidar or a combination of both if they insisted on adding it.
I’m not a fan of the led bar either. With it the front end is too simplified for my taste. I bet a more traditional, but smaller than normal, round led headlight would actually look great.

It’s super cool. Not sure what the range would be, but if I lived in a big city, I’d consider it

Non Binary bro,

The puppy, or the scooter?

I hope it doesn't catch on. It's only the advancing noise of the bike that warns pedestrians to get out the way as they come racing down the pavement (sidewalk) and drivers of their wing mirrors and doors as they weave in and out the traffic.

They make kits for old Vespas in the UK, I have thought about it for the last frame I have left.

And oil mixed in.

I might ... But only for a fraction of what they'd charge to buy the thing. Vespa prices are like Harley prices.

now you’re talking

i like it, need to know range and if it doesn’t cost more than a scooter should, like more than a Honda Cub, when the electrics cost no more than a gas equivalent I’m in, but doubt that will happen any time soon
