Yeah, I know. I thought about this right after I saw the news the other night. By the time I got to twitter, it had already been made a dozen times.

I made a version myself later because the quality of the existing ones weren’t good.

I’d have a lot more interest in the Chilton/Haynes manuals of the world if the photos weren’t total shit. Black and white potato images with no visual context.

YES! spend so much time once lying underneath my car attempting to match up the sketch to what I was looking at on the real car. like rotated my body, rotated the book, squinted, lights on, lights on. swearing... swearing.

Ever since I bought the Jeep I’ve wanted to create a virtual wireframe app for my iPad to let me zoom in and out, see how things fit together, try to figure out why my stick shift is horrible right now.

Someone please make that. I’d spend a couple of hundred for it.

Manufacturers are working on that now. Just saw a demo last week for a certain brand. And not CAD but a technician-facing AR iPhone app

Somehow, sadly, I doubt Chrysler is going to make one for my generation of Wrangler , but that’s encouraging nonetheless.
