Looking forward to the final race on Christmas morning.

The Christmas part was a joke, but they do plan on running into December. Hope they can pull it off safely...will be glad to see some racing again.

I’m definitely happy to have racing back. A little bummed about the back to backs at the same track. Hopefully weather or another variable keeps it interesting. So many races are already Mercedes 1-2. Seeing a repeat at the same track one week later will be a bummer.
But don’t get me wrong....happy to have racing back!

That was exactly what was in my mind. I know some purists call it gimicky, but come on. This would be a perfect time to try it out! I’m glad I’m not the only one around here who support the idea

If they don’t change anything for the 2nd weekend I may not bother watching it as it’s likely to be almost identical barring any crashes or drastic weather change

Yah, I really hope there’s something compelling. If we get a snooze race in week 1, it’ll be tough to muster much excitement to do it again. Who knows. Maybe it’ll be awesome. I hope so. I think it’s just a weird idea to have a sequel so soon.
I just pray this isn’t 8 straight races of Mercedes 1-2. Even before the craziness of this season, it already felt like 2020 was going to be “just choke down another Mercedes domination until 2021 when we can mix things up again”

The reason for Merc not wanting reverse grid races is to stop any potential derailments to Hamilton’s 7th title, however for me I’d see that 7th title with an asterisk showing that it was a shortened season with double headers, essentially an easy title win if the double headers are ran identical both weekends, if they agree to the reverse grid and Hamilton still wins the title then I’d call it earned fair and square, no asterisk needed
