Not so many DOTS, I have been hiking on the mountai n instead of walking near where cars drive by. I do have a lot of randoms though, in my search for M37 pictures I have found a bunch of vehicles in the background of Vietnam pictures as well as other stuff I’ve seen that I thought was interesting.

Your first photo reminded me I saw a first the other day: an FJ-40 driving around with the windshield down.

My neighbor has one of the Datsun pickups like that last image and it is so perfect you are afraid to breathe on it. Somehow it survived many many years of being practically worthless and was never used. Ever.

All the trucks in Hawaii rusted to the ground. If you were in a better environment and garaged it, I guess it would survive ok. My Z was in Santa Cruz for years so I think the trouble spots got some sea air.

I can’t wait to drive in town with the M37 windshield down, the only time I drive the truck was like that, it’s like driving a huge Jeep or pre war car.

I seriously think there can’t be many more even close to the condition it’s in. Stunningly perfect in absolutely every way.

I can see how the salty air can take its toll. Especially when you get close to the ocean. No sea in sight here and no prepped roads, so if it’s painted and you keep it out of the rain it's fine.

They came with rust starting in some areas, I know Zs did. The steel they used wasn’t the best and then they transported them by ship from Yokohama.

So AMC stepped up their game to lead in selling cars rusty from the showroom. It was a bitter rivalry until AMC folded and Nissan could relax their efforts. Then Mazda came out with a strong competitor so Nissan retaliated by making their cars so miserable  from the showroom that the owners would intentionally let them rust to be rid of them.
