I’m sat in A&E, aka Accident & Emergency, aka Emergency Room. My Step-father’s gall stones decided to flair up again.
He’s on a bed being looked at, and because of the virus, I’m sat out in reception.
It’s quieter out here as he’s prone to droning and whining when in pain, it's granted mind you, but when there’s nothing I can do about it, it soon goes from guilt to ‘just shut up’.

That’s gotta hurt. Sorry you’re stuck in a waiting room, but at least you can cruise Oppo.

It does hurt but the last time he went in it took a while.
The signal is crap in there, I'm outside at the moment, going to go home and wait for more information as they are likely to keep him in and the Charge Nurse said it was either that or sit in reception for some time.

Sorry to hear that. Around here the hospitals are not allowing visitors at all. Good luck to your step-dad.

He’s in the best place for it though.
Ye’, we’ve been no visitors since the start of the pandemic.
In February when his meds went haywire, the ambulance crew weren’t allowed to take me with him.
All doctor and nurse details had to be done over the phone.

My mom said that gall stones hurt worse than childbirth.

Sorry to hear that, I hope he’s feeling better soon.
When I was in the hospital 2 weeks ago, nobody was allowed to come see me, either.

Ye’, when he went in a few months ago initially with abdominal pain. His son was, ‘oh shut up dad, I had gall stones and they are worser (more worse) than what your going through!’. Well it turned out he was going through the gall stones which shut the son up. Unfortunately because he had a gastric bypass 20 years ago. It’s not a simple case of keyhole surgery due to all the scar tissue from the bypass. But with the virus, operations were moved back a little and Robert was okay with that and stable.
Until tonight when it flaired up again.

He was in hospital last time just as the lock down started so he didn’t really know what was going on and he was climbing the walls wanting to come home.

Fatty foods are the primary culprit when it comes to g all flare ups. Foods to avoid include Ice cream and fatty meats.

Ye’, we know. Lol. It just came out of knowhere.
Since his gastric bypass 20 years ago, he can’t eat more than a tea cup saucer at a time. Hell, he’s been known to be full after eating a quarter of a sandwich.
