Considering it’ ll be a single turbo 3.0 V6; in my opinion their target should be at least 400hp, but in reality i’ m guessing somewhere in to 370-380 range which would put it on par with the M340i.

I know there was rumors of 400 and that would be good marketing if they could hit that number..but yeah I think you’re right on the money at 370-380

Whatever it is I’m going to guess it’ll be just slightly not enough because that is the modern Honda way.  Toe right up to the line... and then walk it back about 10%.

390. The hybrid RLX makes 377, so, with the general “rebuilding their 90s sporting reputation” marketing they’re doing with this car, I can’t imagine their tout of “most powerful Acura sedan ever” would be a mere 3 above that. However, I also can’t see 400. This is, after all, the successor to the same car that made LESS horsepower in top trim than its predecessor. The 4th gen TL SH-AWD makes 305, while the outgoing TLX makes only 290.

I’m surprised this is the first mention of the car here on Oppo. Oh wait, no I’m not.

I think around there is just about right.  I'm really stoked that they went to a double wishbone front suspension.  Old school Honda awesome sauce right there.

I hate how right you are, although I will say 306 in the Civic Type R is pretty respectable . Too much more than that and the car would start to be a handful.

This is the first car in a while I’m genuinely excited about. It has all the makings of a genuinely good sports sedan.

365. One HP for every day of the year.

Wow I didn’t know the R was up there. That is pretty respectable, though not quite the rocketship I would expect given the looks.

Funny enough this made me look up the Si.  I bought a 2009 Si new and it had 201HP at 2,900lbs which was just slightly not enough.  Just looked it up and the 2020 Si has.... 205HP at 2,900lbs.  So... 10 years and 2 generations and they’ve added 4 HP.

I think Honda was more focused on lap times than outright brawn and it shows, lol. It was just over 22 seconds faster around the nurburgring than the Focus RS.

Don’t ignore the torque gains though. Y our 2009 Si had 139 ft-lbs @ 6100 rpm and the 2020 S i has 192 ft-lbs @ 2100-5000. I bet it feels quite a bit quicker now that is has that extra shove form the turbo, although probably not quite a s fun at the top of the rev range. RIP VTEC.

That is a fair point. One of the (many) reasons I dumped the Si was that all of the power was at 7k+ and that just got tiresome. Don’t get me wrong... there was a lot to like about that car but not a lot to love .

I still believe the reportsof the SUV’s death have been  greatly exaggerated, I echo for excitement for this car.  Hopefully it heralds in a resurgence of sedans with soul.

Yep, I missed that. Just looked...the comments are pretty much what I expect from here. Honda could cure cancer and Oppo would complain about it.

Lol. The dislike and dismissiveness for Honda here is interesting, to say the least. Something I’ll never understand or rea lly want to because I honestly think Honda’s great. But seriously, fuck those V6/auto vans and SUVs. That’s literally my only complaint with them and that’s based off personal experience, not someone’s opinion off the Internet like what seems to be the case with everyone else who keeps slandering Honda around here. It’s pretty weird.
