Came back a week later and it started by itself. It had radio ignition switched power tied to clock power and wired to battery (among other issues, like running over 16 volts). Now I’m going to attempt to make the blinkers blink at the correct speed.

I have to admit that I threw in the towel and put in a whole new wiring harness on my ‘71, including an internally regulated alternator. There were just too many cuts and splices done over the years to try to fix everything.

This car could use that, I had to shorten some grounds by a few inches, there’s a partial painless harness in the dash, running the newish autometer g auges, and the rest is 50 years old. I’m doing everything I can to avoid actually taking the car apart. My previous bumper to bumper wiring job took 72 hours (was incorrect kit, I’m a little quicker than that).

You’re not helping to disprove my theory that we all died and went to purgatory sometime within the past 6 months.

It took me a while to do since it , though it was for F-bodies, was customizable so didn’t have the connectors or sockets done. Also, I’m slow. I’ve also kept the standard bumper/facia but somebody did add the tall rear spoiler at some point and I plan on keeping it.

If it helps, now that I’ve messed with the wiring I’m married to a cool car I do not own for the rest of my life.
