As a kid I thought this was cool as shit. Who wouldn’t love a close flyover?
As an adult and rotary pilot, I’d really hate to be on the ground either prepping or pre-flighting an aircraft under that. I’d be pissed.
EDIT: But I’d still do it once I was in the air, 4 blades of freedom beating the air into submission. (We do have to “fly neighborly” when over civilian population....noise complaints are bad press.)

(We do have to “fly neighborly” when over civilian population....noise complaints are bad press.)
Just like with loud exhausts on sports cars, some appreciate it, some don’t. I’d personally get a big kick out of a sonic boom being dragged across my valley by a fighter jet. But is it worth making a few enthusiasts happy, by causing probably thousands of dollars in property damage (broken windows)?
...
YES.

In the 1980's we lived under a flight line for supersonic air force jets training runs and would hear booms almost on a daily basis. I absolutely loved it. I think they were primarily F-15's and F-18's. I also happened to see the occasional B-1, which is an odd duck in the air.

I’ve yet to see a Bone in the air!
Largely we get complaints because a) “black helicopters” (army green but whatever,) and b) we airport hop a lot to get more experience working in civilian air space (benefit of being guard, we don’t have our own practice fields for the most part.) Most E and D-class airspace/
airports are in/near populated areas, and there’s always NIMBYs that don’t like hearing helicopters.
Nevermind we land at much steeper approaches to the airstrip than the local yokel in his Piper Cub or Split Tail Doctor Killer on a long, long, looooong low approach. Cause our birds say Army on the side, it’s a lot easier to identify who to complain and bitch at.
We even get blamed for the Reserve Chinook unit, even though we don’t have any. (Big Windy is fucking
loud
