I couldn’t sleep last night and found myself on CL looking at boats (I don’t even want a boat, but I was clueless as to what they cost used). However, I think I found my jam. I already have the requisite handlebar mustache to go along with it. Now I need the requisite $8,800.

Then there’s guy, which kind of reminds me of my ‘71 CB175. Small, cool and fun.

I have no idea what these should sell for, but I can say that the interior on that first boat is amazing.

Me neither. We need more Mexican blanket patterned interiors. Thing must have been garaged to still look like that after thirty years in the desert.

Nice color combos, and that first one is a preservation piece that has to be cool again. . I have no cred when it comes to boats, but these look like fair deals, too.
However, if there’s one line I remember from my dad, it’s about the two happiest day in a boat owner’s life.

It is, but god damn those seats must get insanely hot in the sun.

I hate boats like the top one. All they do is rip around the lake ruining the good water for all the skiers and wakeboarders. The interior is tremendous though.
I’m tempted to call scam on the Correct Craft. It’s way too nice to be that price.
Comp that is $ 12,000 higher:

I call BS on that line. Selling my boat would be the saddest day.

Oh yeah. You’d have to put an actual Mexican blanket on top of them.

I was just thinking “O n Lake Havasu with those black vinyl seats? No thank you!” I’ve never been there, but my wife has. She said the heat/humidity combo next to the lake was brutal . As I type this, it’s 100 °F in Lake Havasu City at not quite 11 AM, with a projected high of 110°F. No thank you.

You must be lucky :)
My dad could be impulsive with cars, but pragmatic about other things. Motorhomes and boats were to be rented.

So you picking one up?

Not any time soon.

She said the heat/humidity combo next to the lake was brutal .
While the heat is brutal, I find that people accustomed to the dry southwest climate aren’t the best judge of humidity . I don’t know how much different Lake Havasu is compared to the rest of the state, but a humid day is most of AZ is anything approaching 50%...while here in Wisconsin that would be a really dry day. Average humidity here in the summer is 60-80%.

Interesting. Yeah, it seemed like a really nice boat for $3,500.

Honestly they’re very similar to cars and anything else with a motor. Buying a quality product, and running it regularly pays huge dividends in reliability.

Eh... I’m gonna say that ‘71 is a real price and that it needs stringers. That ‘86 is a more desirable hull (one of the best ski boat hulls ever, arguably) and looks absolutely MINT and has a new engine. And I think it’s overpriced, because you can get a decent 82-89 Nautique for half that.
Still, $3,500 is low. But I do like the colors, and how the top deck is blue along with the hull - like mine, in fact! It’s like my boat’s crusty, grumpy grandpa.
I should buy it and give it to my kids when they’re older, it would be a nice match lol

Our highest average humidity comes in December, and yeah, it’s only 50%. It’s also only like 60-70F so it feels fantastic.

Top boat is overpriced, it’s one engine issue away from being worth almost zero and needing a $20,000 engine. The other one is probably a great deal except it probably needs major structural work in the near future, hence the price. But I love the colors, they’re basically the same as my boat! Just 32 years older.

Definitely, just means having the time and/or resources for that. Sometimes it isn’t easy.

I lived in Tucson a couple years and always laughed when the locals commented on it being such a humid day. I can’t imagine that Lake Havasu affects the local area that much to really change things.

Seems like a goo d idea.
And I will defer to your Nautique knowledge over mine.
If I ever have F-U money, I’d definitely have an old 70s-80s direct drive to mess around with.

She grew up around San Diego, while I grew up in Central Missouri. Our views on heat/humidity have often differed. :)
