(Juke for your time)
So I once again (accidently) took someone’s account online. I saw the lifehacker that Civ VI is free, and went to Epic’s website to buy it.
Well, when I put my email in it informed me that I had an account already. So since my computer didn’t offer up a password; I (of course) clicked forgot password. (Edit: I thought I must have registered years ago with another computer. I hadn’t)
Now I have Fortnite, and Civ VI.
I probably took some 6 year old’s account who was hiding it from his parents. Oh well.

What kind of email address do you have that people keep using it to sign up for games? Maybe you're drunk game buying

Fortnite is also free, so I’d assume Epic just added it to your account automatically so that you can buy stuff for it .

This. when I setup an EGS account I had fortnite put into my library as well because it’s free and they want everyone playing it, so I don’t believe you stole someones account

Well, I never set up a weird username of Phantom 3557. My gamertags are old enough to not have any numbers. So since I didn’t have a password, and it came up with an existing account set to GB and that had pending friend requests, I’m guessing someone started an account at least.
Good to know that they would just dump Fortnite regardless.

Well, that’s annoying. If the content is good at least you can always claim it’s you.

Confirmed, Fortnite gets added to your account automatically. It’s plaguing my Epic store library despite me never having played it and not wanting to ever play it.

A. M artyr@gmail.com strikes me as an address that some security agencies around the world may have more than a passing interest...though repeated use over a number of years may allay any fears...

I own a few domains, one of which gets confused with a company name, another which is my family name and people try to send mail through it to my distant relatives all the time, and another seems to get hit when people try to randomly create junk e-mail addresses. That last one is the most interesting since I frequently get notifications that someone has signed up for a service using my domain. I usually take over the account, add an appropriate account picture, and wait to see what they do. The account is usually deleted within a day or two.

potentially you did then, it might be the case that they have a similar email address to you and mistyped it ending up with yours so couldn’t use it when they forgot the password as the email was wrong
