This is Sancho. He is the new friend Toby made on the trail. His owner was very nice and really liked the Sunchaser.
We enjoyed Sancho and his papa very much. I think you will agree that Sancho is just adorable. He is a rescue, just like all the best dogs.
This map is at the far end of the trail. There was a notice showing that last week, a mountain lion was photographed 200 feet from this spot. We started at the Corlieu Falls end. This is a very beautiful place, but it was very crowded today. People were nice, and Toby was on his best behavior with all of the kids and dogs. The only thing I didn’t like was that we encountered a number of people who had wireless speakers playing music as they walked along the trail. Is this a thing now? I don’t want this to be a thing.
Toby wanted you to see his action shots. I did a very poor job shooting these, but I kind of like the second one.
He had a couple of more action shots, too. This is kind of the usual behavior for him on trails. He likes to run. Once again, the subject is better than the photographer on these ones.
We went out this morning to beat the heat - forecast was in the mid 90s on the Valley floor, so a few degrees cooler in the mountains. That turned out to be a good idea, as it was 93 degrees when we got home. I’m headed for the pool now.

Looks like a fun relaxing evening. I have a mission to walk my dog on every single street within easy walking distance of my house that isn't across a major road and I've almost exhausted all the options. There are just a few areas left. Maybe I should expand to every trail in the national park. I've walked most of them more times than I can count but there are a few I'm not familiar with.

Unfortunately people hiking while playing music off their phones or through wireless speakers does appear to be a thing now. I have found it always seem to be some awful hot garbage music too. I am all for some classic rock in nature, but i was also raised not to force my terrible life choices on other people, apparently schools have stoped teaching that lesson.

Sadly, the wire l ess music while hiking is certainly a thing. I’ve found it is mostly a thing in places close to the city and/or paved roads, which is to say places people can casually go . When I get out to wilderness areas or other places where the distance from the nearest paved road can be measured in hours, the few folks encountered thankfully never seem to be doing this.
