I feel bad for all my friends in OKC, as Hertz heads for the big donut hole in the sky. I am looking forward to a saturated used car market soon... I won’t be buying a used Versa, but if the sinking tide brings down the cost of the good stuff, it’ll be a silver lining in this cloud we’re in. Maybe I can fill my stable with a cheap Volvo C30 to daily, a 200 series LC for weekends, and a C6 for play? Or for the same price I will probably just find 9 Versas that smell like puke and air freshener.

Can you imagine how horrible it would feel to not only be driving a used versus but have it being a beat up former rental car on top of that?

At least I now have a suitable fate to wish on my worst enemies....

I would say rentals aren’t “that” bad in general, but anyone buying a versa of that generation probably deserves it

I worked for Hertz back when they were still owned by Ford. Some of them were beaten to hell by renters, but we always did the maintenance within the guidelines. Of course that was a long time ago, but that’s the only rental company I’d ever seriously consider buying a used car from.
A lot of certified used Mazdas came through Hertz.
