Bionic limbs and angry pedos are what you can expect when your phone number used to belong  to Elon Musk.

Ha, no, thanks. I just shared that with Tracy and the Jalopnik crew.

I think I’m in love. Beats the Hellcat Wrangler I spotted.

I’m honestly not easily impressed by cars, but that one makes me feel sort of squishy inside. Also, I’m guessing that 707 hp would shred the stock drive train if one was not careful. I think a more modest swap of something in the 300-350 horsepower range would make more sense.

No mention of drivetrain upgrades. It really rea lly needs drivetrain upgrades...so???

I l ived close to Collins Bros for years. Years ago they had tons of Jeeps (mostly CJs, few YJs, and fair number of TJs) and some were nice but outrageously priced. M any others were well used and were n’t priced bad - a bit high but reasonable. They always tons of Jeeps on the lot . I see they’ve gone completely upmarket - l ow quantity, high price set up. W as always neat to drive by and see well used but cleaned up CJs on the lot. Kinda sucks.

I'm guessing 707 horsepower would absolutely shred the stock power train components if you were not careful.

The front/rear D44s would be pretty explody with 707hp, unless beefed up internally (and externally w/D44HD housings). The stock NP229 viscous coupling would not be long for this world. This GW would have had a Mopar 727 trans stock which co uld be built for the power, but not sure what they put behind it. I would hope things are not stock under there for $130k.

Without looking it up, I’m guessing the stock V8 would’ve had like 190 horsepower, tops. So a swap to something in the 300 HP range, maybe 350, and not driven like an 18-year-old driver, maybe...

You’re far, far, FAR too generous as the AMC 360 brings a unimpressive 144hp /280tq to the table . D44s are mostly fine with your average hot rod SBC combo, 35" tire s or less, and trending lighter on the weight side. SJs are lighter than they look @ ~4500lbs (I IR C) , but that doesn’t make them light. You can kill the D44 if you try in various combinations of the above . But 707hp is like tossing a grenade in there. Drive it like an old man mostly and they’ll last though.

Wow. That’s pretty anemic. And probably 7 gallons per mile.

I’ve always loved the look of those Grand Wagoneers though. Really  handsome.
