So, this render just pops up over on AutoEvolution ... and I kinda dig this take on the love child of a modern Beetle with a Targa roof. Somebody has to build this thing, with the 5-cylinder monster motor, preferably.

Someone did that concept a few years ago w/the Beetle.
I’m thinking find an old Beetle targa and cut the top of the door off (nope!)
Or buy a Beetle Convertible for $12k and then spend another $10k on a custom build .

Thanks. I’d never seen those...

Alternatively.....make a square targa from the VW Cabriolet!
(I didn’t realize how THIN that bar was....when I was younger I thought it was a bit thicker )

I like these, but the glass has to open like a corvette, or I hate it

I’d just like to point out that ‘more affordable’ in the context of a new 911 Targa is not necessarily affordable.
I also think that this render truly belongs on Crazy Canuck's car nose swap Facebook page...

I secretly like how the last generation beetle looked. Original beetles are obviously the best, but I kind of liked the final redesign.

I really did too. They ditched some of the “cute” and it worked.
I’m liking this Targa Treatment... hope somebody figures out how to build it. As a project car chassis these cars are getting affordable.

I’d buy it, especially in that dark green they came in
