I think its a little premature to talk about Alfa being saved

Exactly, they are not only having bad sales number in the US/Canada but also in Europe.

Lancia sells only one car in Italy and had almost as much sales as Alfa last year .

N umbers are one thing. But not everything. The point is that FCA would be in quite deeper shit if Tesla didn’t existed. I’m optimistic in theirregard , however.

heh. That’s funny.

OTOH, FCA paid those billions to Musk (for pretty much no benefit to the world) and now are out of liquidity.  I’m pretty sure they’d rather have the cash back.

Hilarious.  Lancia practically in a coma, while having a heart attack, and still is in better shape than Maserati...

It’s quite the opposite. Throwing billions of dollars at Musk only propped up Musk’s loser business model, while doing nothing to lengthen the FCA runway.

T hey would’ve paid a lot more to the EU, in fines. Lucky for them, PSA has fuel efficient, small engine cars and hybrids and EV’s on the market. And more in the pipeline. So if FCA+PSA becomes a thing, they wouldn’t need to buy green credits from Tesla anymore.
