Big want....

For that money I'd buy it just from the pic.

That’s a screamin good deal

those concave backlites always looked weird.

Well that’s a a lot of rust. It’s an okay deal

Having owned one of these with the leaning tower of power, they don’t interest me at all, but that’s a decent price if the rust isn’t too bad.

Anything presmog is immediately worth over 1k in my book

Rust just helps us not feel bad when it gets hacked up into a hot rod

I suppose in states with emissions testing. Not an issue here

NP all day, Mopar or No Car
A running driving mopar for $2900? That; s amazing, this is exactly the type of project I want. Something that is kind of garbage, but runs and drives and could be fixed up over time. And some mods and updates wouldn’ t be sacrilegious since its a rust heap anyway

I’m probably a weirdo for saying it, but I’d actually prefer a slant six over a V8

There’s pre-smog and then there’s pre-smog . By that I mean that in 72 there weren’t catalytic converters and there’s no inspection in most states but the compression ratios had already been dropped, timing retarded and EGR systems added which cut power.

They definitely have the best picture forward. Rare <> valuable. In all, I think the price is too high.

It’s a Nice Price for what it is. But if I was looking for a classic Dodge A-Body, I would get one that had a manual transmission... unless I was looking to convert it to a BEV.

It looks great in the first picture, but the buzzkill is precipitous. I think in the main, he’s asking too much for what it is. As well, it lives next to the ocean up in Humboldt County...

The one I had was just a beater that gave me trouble, the slant 6 is really a very good engine.
70s Dart interiors are pretty crappy though.

Soooo...
Hellcat?

These cars have a following, albeit not a big following.
They’re attractive as hot rods, and any Mopar engine from that era will fit. In fact, Chrysler stuffed every engine they had into Darts of that generation at some point.

Much of that is easily addressed though - let the 318 breathe a bit and that car can be fun.

Forced induction on the biggest cheapest motor in the immediate vicinity

Absolutely. The hardest part is the low compression heads but you can certainly wake those early smog engines up with some a little “ addition by subtraction” and a good tune.

I fully support your proposed shenanigans.

And in the same area a 1965 Gladiator for 3k. Not bad.

Seems pretty clean for its age
