Just some miscellaneous things here today.
Most of my favorite car colors are represented here
First, when I was at Old Car City USA on Friday, I parked next to this VW Golf Rabbit Edition, which is one of my favorite trim levels on sale right now. Cornflower Blue and plaid seats is just perfect and those aftermarket wheels are even better. Autobox unfortunately.
About that visit, I’m trying to challenge myself a little by trying to learn video editing, so I am going to edit a few short (1-2 minutes) videos to accompany the DIOCCUSA posts, just to shake things up.
A classic car cruise also rolled by while I was standing out front. That was fun.
I never really do those car glamour shots at travel destinations, but here you go anyways. Not the best angle, really.
And on a more serious note, we attended a drive by goodbye for a wonderful woman in the final stages of a battle against cancer. The turnout was amazing and some cool rides sh owed up too.
And a few other things.
I also finally documented the illusive “Grinch” green Mustang.
Notice the vanity plate
And finally, we get to the milestone
. The Cruze has 120,000 miles on it, which isn’t all that much but still makes a nice round number.
No problems so far, but I should do a 20,000 mile update. Well, I got it at 102,000 miles so maybe wait just a bit. Oh, all the smears on the glass are on the inside and driving me crazy. I really think I should rent a carpet doctor and do a seats out clean soon. And do something about plastics, which are getting a little dry.

Cool cars. We had a neighborhood car cruise today that went right behind our house, so that was pretty cool. It was much bigger than I expected, 10-12 cars, and there were probably close to 50. Everything from a Morris Minor to a new McLaren went by. Lost of fun old cars, though.

Ooh, that's cool. Take any pictures of the Morris? That's not something you expect to see at all. I think this was just a few friends going on a ride rather than a designated cruise though.

I didn’t get any pictures. I wish I would’ve, as there were a few unexpected cars. Just sitting outside now, a ‘90s BRG Lotus Elan just drove by.

The proper color even! Sounds like a lot of fun.

Oof. I would do horrible, reprehensible things for my GTI to be Cornflower Blue from the factory. I like Tornado Red, but damn.

Both are some mighty fine colors, but the Cornflower Blue Rabbit Edition with the plaid seats is the ultimate mk VII. It is stunningly perfect, especially with those wheels.
Nice GTI though!

Love Cornflower Blue but I kind of go back and forth about whether it’s really the right color for a GTI. Cornflower works better on a city car like the Up, a GTI should be a bit more sober in my opinion.
On the other hand, my GTI is Night Blue which I like but is a bit darker than I’d prefer. I think Nogaro Blue from the R Spektrum line is the ideal Mk7 color for me.

I think we can agree that the GTI looks good in pure purposeful colors at least. Both are good but I think Cornflower goes great with the plaid seats. Too bad we don't get the Up! here, though they would sell about 9 and lose a ton of money on it.

I’d love to drive an Up GTI.

No, though sometimes after long trips, especially on hot days, it feels just a little wonky. I’m planning on doing a partial automatic transmission fluid drain to see if that would help. Did maybe the Australian market get a less robust version of the torque converter 6 speed? Thanks for asking though.
