So my GF woke up to some strange paw prints on her deck.
Turns out, a local bruin stuck his big mitts in a container of used oil waiting to get recycled by her garage, and proceeded to snoop around a bit.

Bears covered in oil, huh

It's an adaptive defense. By covering themselves in oil, it makes it harder for hunters to get them into a chokehold. Nature is beautiful.

Further proof that oil is in a bear market right now.

Maybe he just wanted to have a good time?

This is why smart hunters also leave a pan full of dishwashing liquid out to de-oil the bears.

Otters would be more likely to get oiled up, I’d think.

I bought some paint to touch up an apartment we were moving out of, and our cat managed to knock the can of paint off the microwave table. It landed just right to pop the top off. We returned home from dinner to the smell of paint and little white paw prints all over the apartment. Fortunately, they were planning to replace the carpet anyway, so we didn’t have to worry about it.
