In related news, i finally got the old rear brake hose off the wagon. Sometimes you’ve got to take your pyrrhic victories where you can find them.
I'm tempted to bolt the new one in with this monstrosity just to confuse the next mechanic.

Yes, I’m feeling better and better about deciding to let my mechanic do my brake hoses... Granted my car is around two decades newer, but still.

This would have been about 50 times easier if it was a proper bolt and not a torx.

You say that, but I already destroyed 21mm nut trying to remove it to replace a strut. Welding another nut on was a solution I didn’t even think of, but probably would have worked if I had a welder and knew what I was doing.
