I’m doing my part to stimulate the economy.
Some of these projects are easy, some may not get done this year but that’s the goal. I need to do the front end work and get this car aligned before I take it on any long drives.
The seats scare me the most but anything is better than the deteriorating holes that now reside for seating surfaces.

Take the seat parts and upholstery stuff to the local upholstery shop of your choice and consider it money well spent.

I’ll see how much of a PIA it is then give up and take it to someone who knows what they are doing.

Ah yes I remember getting that stuff.. My interior was fine aside from getting new mats. I would like seats from Classic Car Seats though. My driver seat is kind of crap inside.

The seat bottoms on my car are absolutely gone, like you have to sit on a small cushion. I think the re-strapping kit and foam kit will fix that. I’ll do the passenger seat first so I “figure it out”, as I drive the car I don’t want it out of service for 2 months in the summer while I futz with the seats.

If that happens to be the cheaper eco friendly foam option I’ll regret not buying futures in closed cell.

Look at you and your cheap, readily available parts for your Datsun.

To be fair we probably have many of the same parts like brake and clutch master cylinder.

I ordered 2 components which totaled upto almost $1400
I’m doing my part!

Nope 5/8" vs 13/16". I’m trying to think of anything the Roadster shares with the Z. We have a scant few 510 parts that are interchangeable per se...mainly brakes as you say.

My car being a true 1970 model has many unique parts and that is frustrating. I’ll find a part and then they say except series 1 cars.

That’s close to what we paid for this car in 2005.

:O
Take me back in time to 2005 so that I can outbid you :P

We need a new computer at home and I am actually thinking about just getting g an iPad.

Upholstery is one of the few things I pay other people to do on my cars. Upholstery work most always costs less than you fear, and someone who does it all day, every day, will give a result I can't come close to matching.

I’m very happy with my iPad Pro (the big one) and if I didn’t need a laptop for more hardcore work (software development) I’d seriously consider buying the new keyboard/trackpad unit and calling it a day.
iPads are a remarkable device. E very now and then there’s something you can’t do with it, but if you have a backup plan for those occasions and you know it’ll do what you want otherwise, it’s a great choice.

I’m trying to fix an eight year-old macbook, because I’m a teacher in AZ, and the economy doesn’t give a shit about stimulating me.
My wife is like, fuck it, these assholes don’t know what they’re doing, charge it because the economy is going to collapse anyways. However , I’ve already fixed a twenty year-old AC unit and a fifty year old motorcycle while working (now) three jobs during this and going to grad school during this pandemic , so I figure why stop now?
I’ve significantly shortened my lifespan over the last few months.

ITA97 speaks the truth...trust me. It increases the bill slightly but reduces the timeframe significantly and saves many many years of sadness as a result of staring at your shoddy work.
