I did the phones for this place so I got to see the whole place. The conference room is amazing and had planned to do an AV upgrade this summer. Sad news for the Portland area.

Aw nooooooooooooo! Musuems will likely be hit very hard all over.
I hope the Lane Motor Museum in particular weathers this. I had planned a visit but it fell through.

I’ve been down there twice
. But I didn’t have the time to visit the museum.
I have to wonder why they’re closing down — what costs are preventing it from staying open?

They run a couple of music schools for disadvantaged kids and that’s probably a higher priority. I don’t know this for fact, they could be shutting down those as well.

It’s probably not costs... it’s time. If they can’t reopen till sometime next year then they’ve probably lost a full year of income. If they are a not for profit then they won't have a huge budget upon which they can draw to maintain their assets and prepare for reopening. So it's quite sensible that they make the hard decision now to wind it up before it starts getting financially risky for the board of management...
